magicdweedoo now has a separate Bandcamp account for videogame music and soundtracks
Shook Yang deliver a straight up king hit to the face with this fast, aggressive and noisy hardcore punk release. The Locust-like vocals act as their own instrument, adding to the blizzard of noise. Not one word is audible throughout the record, however it’s easy to imagine the kind of crazy stuff being spewed out is about with track titles such as “You’ve Broken Anal Law” and “Crab Kill”. True punk spirit.

The OST for the game of the same name by Kyle Reimergartin. The artwork for this album pretty much sums up its sound. Minimalist, glitchy and odd repeating samples invade your brain to recreate the sounds of an emotionally capable robot’s inner workings.
The mood varies a lot between the songs, ranging from playfully innocent to melancholic to a bad trip. Speaking of, some bits and pieces are reminiscent of Osamu Sato’s LSD Dream Emulator’s music, and occasionally Earthbound’s OST.

This is some damn funky upbeat chiptune right here. Coming from videogame-music-esque master coda, Minimap is a true video game soundtrack… minus the video game.
Many sounds throughout the album draw similarities to great games and music such as Goemon 64 OST, various Bomberman songs, 80’s funk, Pop N’ Twinbee: Rainbow Bell Adventures OST, old Casio keyboard demos and even a bit of Michael Jackson and god damn Totakeke from Animal Crossing. Convinced yet?

This album of noisy garage style punk songs is an interesting listen from start to finish. The majority feels very punk-like, however Bastard also throws in occasional ambient tracks and noise instrumentals. There may or may not be the slightest hint of Melvins in terms of the music itself at times.
A decent length release with enough variety to hold your attention. For punk and noise fans, also may appeal to people who like experimental music.
